It's another Friday and we're here to show off another absolutely fabulous member of staff, and what he runs with on a game day. Today we would like to introduce to you Nick. Nick works between customer service, but mostly returns admin and has been here for several years now. So, let's get onto the good stuff, what he shoots with and how he dresses up for game day.
Classed as a beginner gear-whore he is slowly building up a former counter-terrorism / urban Police look. Combined with his lightweight and compact weapon options, he can run fast but also work effectively in close quarters and woodland scenarios depending on what takes his fancy at the weekend.
Let's give you a breakdown of the clothing and gear seen in the pics below:
With Nick being a lighter frame, people can usually look a bit swamped in their gear, however, the Viper Tactical line-up of gear is highly adjustable, even for the larger sized shooter, Viper gear can fit snug.
Keeping it lightweight and slimline also allows for tucking yourself away into tight situations away from incoming fire far easier, plus you will be working up less of a sweat in the day running about like a mad man.
Nick certainly likes to own quality rifles and his primary and secondary definitely haven't been compromised, but you may be surprised to see that one of our members of staff has hardly touched their internals!
Starting off with the ASG - EVO 3 A12018 Revision, the only upgrades carried out have been on the stock stabiliser and hop adjustment wheel from Airtech Studios. These couple of upgrades get rid of stock wobble and allow for easier hop pressure adjustment, even whilst wearing gloves. The front end has also been dressed up with a very tasty looking ASG - ROTEX Suppressor.
Running on top of the EVO is a VORTEX - SPARC AR Red Dot Sight. Where Nick may opt for more affordable, but highly functional gear, he makes up on his tasty accessories. Considering he gets a free replacement whenever the sight may get shot out, our accidentally damaged... Who can blame him? Anyone can take advantage of this warranty thanks to VORTEX's VIP warranty scheme. More on that can be found on any product listing from VORTEX on our website, or come in-store.
Onto the side-arm, the highly trusted Tokyo Marui - G17 Gen3, the pistol comes standard with optional night slights (slight glow in the dark) and has not been touched at all internally! Being stored in a reliable holster, the only aftermarket "mods" are the custom 3D printed flared mag-well (for quicker reloads) and reinforced base plates for his magazines.
These pistols are built to last and function all year round with surprisingly high gas efficiency thanks to their polymer slide construction. Don't let the word polymer put you off, these are strong and produced in Japan to a very high standard.

Hello there, it's been a while since we last showed you how we Airsoft. Well, today we're bringing you something completely different! Today we'd like to introduce to your Wee Man, properly known as Kyle (but we will stick to his nickname for now).
A compact human, but what he lacks in size, he makes up for in kindness and a range of interesting hobbies. One of which, re-enactment. Working full time in stock handling, Kyle spends many a weekend running with his decommissioned fire-arms within his 82nd Airborne 505th regiment.
More rarely you can find him on the battlefield in a variety of military accurate load-outs, but he's probably best known for his Airborne get-up.
Wee Man knows more than anyone here so we won't waffle on, here is his full kit list with pics to match:
1. M1 Fixed bail helmet with parachute liner A-frames (Original - Dated: Unknown).

For those Airsoft days, it's rare you're going to ever see him with a decked out modern AR rifle and this clothing. His current pride and joy (Airsoft wise) would be his S&T - M1903A1 Springfield.

You may or may not be aware, but here at Patrol Base at the bottom right of every page there is the TokyWoky chat box where customers can interact with one another. You'll regularly see our staff and customers answering questions related to products, but one of the most common things which gets asked: What gun is the best for a beginner? This changes all the time, though there are some pretty staple ones, as newer ones come out all the time. We've put together this blog post to show off what we recommend at the moment as the best beginner M4 rifles for Airsoft skirmishers. We'll talk about what are the best M4 to get your hands on at the moment, for £150 or lower which are more than good enough to get you into your first skirmish. You can check them all out below!

In our opinion, these are the best option for a beginner player in 2019.

As the cheapest rifles in this article, these are great introductory rifles into the Airsoft world, the CM.5xx series of M4 / AR feature a fully polymer body to reduce costs, but still come with the standard CYMA V2 full metal gearbox, making them a great introductory rifle for those who are on a budget. The performance of a high end CYMA, with a body you aren't afraid to scuff.

Touted as the holy grail of beginner weapons these are the most recommended rifles picked by our customers. You'll have seen them before: they're tried, tested, and proven as rental guns, so if they're good enough to handle the thrashing of a rental player they're sture as hell going to hold up for a normal skirmisher. The rifles have a high quality polymer body, but also have the range and accuracy to compete with some of the higher end Airsoft rifles!
An Airsoft 6mm BB Gun, based on the M4 / AR Platform, which is a great entry grade Beginner weapon for those looking to start playing Airsoft, or even simply Backyard Plinking. Available in both Black and Tan, its the perfect gun for any beginner.
The longer version of the CM16 Raider, its an incredibly light weight and reliable Airsoft RIF. An excellent beginner Airsoft weapon but also very favourable by experienced Airsofters due to its out of the box performance being so good in a low price bracket.
Do beginner guns come with a battery and charger, or do I have to buy them seperate??
Hey! Some guns come with a battery and charger, and some do not. For more information please refer to the 'Package Includes' section, which is found at the bottom of the description as well as in the Product Specifications tab. We do however recommend that you replace the battery and charger immediately, as they are typically of low quality. You'll want an auto-stop charger and a high capacity battery for best performance. You can read a blog article on the subject which I wrote, and I will link it below. Hope this helps 🙂
Yo, why are polymer guns cheaper, do they break easy or something?
Hey! You'll usually find that Polymer guns are cheaper, but don't let that put you off. Polymer guns are just designed to be cheaper by not having to cast the parts in metal, reducing the overall cost. They still perform just as well as a metal good, and they still look the part at a distance. You'll find with some ranges that the metal and plastic guns feature exactly the same internals, they're just a cheaper alternative of the same thing. Hope this helps 🙂
WHAT MAGS DO I NEEED FOR MY M4?
Hey! For an M4 any STANAG style magazine should fit. The industries been pretty good with M4 mags, and most mags are cross brand compatible. You can find our full range of STANAG / M4 mags in their own category which I will link below. Hope this helps 🙂
Hey guys, what attachments can I use on my m4?
Hey! The first thing you'll want to do is identify what attachment points your rifle has. This can be found in the Specifications section on your weapon's page. Once you've identified it you can pick a section on the website then filter by that connector type. Most rifles use 20mm RIS / RAS for sights and scopes, but the handguard varies, and could be 20mm / MLOK / KeyMod. The most common type of rail is 20mm RIS / RAS, so there are plenty of attachments available 🙂 Hope this helps 🙂
